An insight into young development research: In videos, interviews and images, four people show how they are rethinking and redesigning living space – beyond the logic of profit and isolation. The opportunities and challenges of these approaches become visible and inspire people to contribute to a fair and sustainable future.
What is it all about? Being an advocate of post-growth means, among other things, not believing in the narrative of green growth, i.e. assuming that growth compulsion and effective climate and environmental policy are mutually exclusive.
But what does this mean for political practice? What am I for if I reject the idea of green growth? For squats and tenement syndicates, for example!
A contribution by Mirabell Eckert, Laura Hesch, Aliza Karn and Valentina Seidl, with video statements by activists Zora and Eva-Maria, who explain these connections based on their everyday political practice.
The contribution was produced as part of a research seminar at the Institute for International Development, led by filmmaker Marion Priglinger and Johannes Knierzinger, board member of the Mattersburg Circle.
